Verses from the Quran that Muslims often turn to when the mind will not settle. Each is shown with the Arabic, an English translation and its reference.
أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ
“Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.”
Ar-Ra'd 13:28
لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا
“Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear.”
Al-Baqarah 2:286
وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ
“And whoever relies upon Allah — then He is sufficient for him.”
At-Talaq 65:3
حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ
“Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.”
Al-Imran 3:173
أَلَا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاءَ اللَّهِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
“Verily, the allies of Allah will have no fear, nor will they grieve.”
Yunus 10:62
قُل لَّن يُصِيبَنَا إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَنَا هُوَ مَوْلَانَا
“Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us; He is our protector.”
At-Tawbah 9:51
رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي
“My Lord, expand for me my chest and ease for me my task.”
Ta-Ha 20:25-26
أَمَّن يُجِيبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ
“Who answers the desperate one when he calls upon Him?”
An-Naml 27:62
مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ
“Your Lord has not abandoned you, nor has He become displeased.”
Ad-Duha 93:3
وَأُفَوِّضُ أَمْرِي إِلَى اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بَصِيرٌ بِالْعِبَادِ
“I entrust my affair to Allah. Indeed, Allah is Seeing of His servants.”
Ghafir 40:44
رَبَّنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْنَا
“Our Lord, we place our trust in You, and to You we turn in repentance.”
Al-Mumtahanah 60:4
